You can always narrate ‘fake cool’ in films or TV: the filmmaker spends a ton of period selling some guy as super chilly – but they mess up namely character’s subcom. That is how we get ‘the Fonz,’ namely character that you know you are supposed to consider is cool yet he isn’t really. You know he isn’t really cool for his body language is over done – he has also many swagger and he is way too animated. The ‘fake cool’ characters ordinarily seem quite attempt hard. I don’t think Hollywood but gets the full magnitude of understanding subcom to their craft.

Observe that you feel that the characters are cool and charming even though their stereotype is dorky.
I love observing the subcommunications (subcom) through peoples. I spent tons of time on that very topic in the fashionable writing – in fact the entire thing is really about that. About how we mail every other whistles of all kinds without mentioning it per se.

The reporter characters weren’t being sold as cool guys – they always wore the accurate same dorky 1950’s kit and were journalism geeks. It’s what I did a lot behind in my AFC days. I would sprint off to the movie cinema for a few peppery dogs and soda when I needed a crash from leveling my toon on World of Warcraft.
I now automagically process material through the lens of tons of field experience and everything in life looks different than ahead - including film.
You just kas long asthe Ed Murrow character is internally driven and he doesn’t give a shit about what’s going on approximately him. He has a VISION and he won’t let it work. This is subcommunicated to the audience along how slow he moves, how unaffected he is by his environment, how he has a very smooth and steady tone of voice, how his pose is erect and nearly statue favor, and a cluster extra little points.
How you come off to women is 90% narrated to all the little puny entities you do with your body. If you have quick eye movements you subcom nervousness. If you move your arms rapidly you subcom trying too hard. If you turn your pate too fast in response to something in the environment you come off as no internally verified.

If you disburse consideration to character based films you like you realize that the best ones have an intense converge on the subcom of the characters. I didn’t realize this till a while back. Basically I took a rapid inventory of some super character driven films I liked and realized that the more they focused on getting really near to the facial expressions, the eyes, the tonality, the stance, the stillness of characters, how they moved – the better the movie was.
