Unfortunately, Cars was not the powerhouse blockbuster Disney executives were hoping for, barely limping past the $200 million mark when analysts were originally predicting it would take close to $300 million.

Obviously, Disney is not-so-subtly reminding everyone that they are [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and will continue to be, the top dogs in animation. Not only do they control CG powerhouse Pixar (or does Pixar control *their* animation department?) but their distribution deal with Studio Ghibli, home of Hayao Miyazaki [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], gives them the inside track on Japanese anime.
